I think its great that you can have some musician in a Hi-Spec Studio with FX racks and guitars, Moogs and Rolands on multi tiered stands up against a guy with a Mac, a USB keyboard running Garageband and both be on a level playing field.

Started playing Bass right after Peaches by The Stranglers come out.
Played in a few "Living Room" bands til I got head-hunted to join a 3 piece Rock Band.
I have always had an interest in Electronic Music. early Tangerine Dream, Kitaro and Vangelis.
Got my first keyboard (Moog Prodigy) as a swap for one of my Basses.
I got a bit more serious after my change from PC to Mac.
