Played with a Southern Rock/Bluegrass Band a couple of Summers in a row back in the day. It was called "South Moon." I wasn't around except for the summers so they went on to do some stuff without me, but it was a good start for me.

Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower (they are different and Trower, along with Hendrix is one of the best players and song writers of all time. Stevie Ray Vaughan,
Johnny Winter, Jeff Beck, The Right Reverend Billy F. Gibbons, Joe Satriani,
to name a few.

Lexingrton KY is nice. Houston is a happening city, though not ideal in every respect. A strong music scene here though, so it's got that going for it...which is nice.
