After more than 20 years of singing in the Southern Gospel Music industry, Tammy Sumner, the founder of Faithful Crossings, has turned her heart toward home. Having shared the stage with such greats as the Inspirations, Gordon Mote and Ann Downing she went on to become one of the original members of the acclaimed all-female quartet Sweetwater Revival (nominated for 2008 SGN Female Group of the Year). But God wasn’t finished working in her life or ministry and at the end of 2006 He called Tammy and her family on a new journey… one that would take them across the country from the giant metropolis of Minneapolis, MN to the small town of Piney Flats, TN and finally to the sunny state of Florida where they now reside.

On this new journey, there would also be a new ministry… a ministry that’s purpose was to tell about the great Faithfulness of their Savior at each and every Crossing in their lives. Curtis, Tammy’s husband would serve as an integral part of this ministry bringing his years of music experience and his love for unique and tight harmonies to the group. Prior to becoming involved in the ministry of Faithful Crossings; Curtis’ music career had allowed him to sing in such venues as the Walt Disney World Resort, Dolly Wood, and Branson; as well as performing the National Anthem at the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals Games.

Al Mercer and Lisa Nielsen eventually joined the group to form the mixed quartet you see today. Also joining in this ministry are young Taylor and Lauren Sumner… You will hear their voices on several of the songs that Faithful Crossings sings but perhaps the most moving of all of these is “Jesus, You’re My Song”; through this song and others you will come to see the gospel through the eyes of childlike faith.

Our Purpose…
Living a life of triumph

The ministry of Faithful Crossings would be nothing without the purpose behind the music. The most prestigious accolades could never win a soul or cause a broken heart to begin to heal… Through the heartfelt testimonies of failures and triumph this ministry strives to bring a message of “hope” to the hopeless and strength to the weary. Both Tammy and Curtis know what it feels like to lose a loved one, to live in the loneliness of a broken home and to suffer through the desperation of financial ruin and yet at each of these times in their lives they have experienced that unexplainable peace that only a relationship with Jesus Christ can give. The purpose of their ministry is two-fold; to win the lost and to share with hurting Christians that they, too, can live a life of triumph because of God’s never-ending faithfulness.
