I've been playing music on the piano since I was a child. Later I adapted the guitar, which I now play with the piano and a small amount of electronic beats. Although my overall style is generally acoustic and patternless, many people say none of my songs sound the same. After writing many short songs, I am finally beginning to record full-length pieces which will someday, hopefully, comprise an album.
Why this name?
It is my name, which are the only words that will truly represent me for my entire life.
Do you play live?
I've played at events for relatives and friends, but I generally don't like much attention. Maybe someday that will change.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
For the better. The ability to share music with people from all over the world is incredible and humbling.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I've never believed that signing a label is "selling out." It's called doing what you love and being successful at the same time. So yes I would, and I would not appreciate any ridicule for doing so from people who are simply jealous of others' successes.
Your influences?
David Lanz
Matt Ryczek
Alanis Morissette
Guster
Favorite spot?
Can't say anything feels better than my hometown of Seattle
