I have been crafting verses since the age of 15. I am currently preparing to release my first CD independently and the follow-up shortly after. Next summer be on the lookout for my collaborative effort with Nonsense as we have officially formed a team and he will be producing the entire LP. Check Nonsense's page periodically for previews of the album which would be any of the songs on his page peformed by the artist Omega (also me).
Why this name?
Originally (and still) it was Omega because "The name Omega doesn't mean that I'm last except for the fact/ I'm hip-hop's last hope of bringing it back" - Unstoppable. Mega Trife was something a friend of mine started calling me and it just stuck so this is the name people know me by. And Reg Chapman because when Dave Chappelle said that name it was the funniest name I had ever heard in my life. Wish I had waited until Chappelle's Show came out so I could've chosen between Tyrone Biggums and Clayton Bigsby.
Do you play live?
I've performed at Bridgewater State College, Trinity College in Connecticutt, Mosque No. 7 in Grove Hall, Roxbury, Massachusetts, the House of Blues and the Green St. Grille both in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is now easier than ever before for musicians to promote their music. An artist from Massachusetts can build a fan base in Arizona without ever visiting the state.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If given the proper creative control and everything else was legitimate, yes.
Band History:
Hailing from the "City of Champions" Brockton, Massachusetts comes 21 year-old MC Omega. Omega aka Mega Trife is known to be an extremely versatile MC specializing in storytelling and lyrical imagery. Mega began rapping at the age of 15 when he became influenced by the notorious battle rapper Canibus. Originally, Mega began to write rhymes as a hobby until an album named "Jewelz" from rap artist O.C. was released in 1997. From there Mega proposed to rap, and it has been a beautiful marriage ever since. In this new state of hip-hop cluttered with materialistic and misogynistic rhymes, Omega provides a glimmer of hope to all those waiting for the return of pure hip-hop music. From personal tales to everyday life situations, storytelling, battle rhymes and even an occasional club banger, Mega Trife can do it all. Omega is not afraid to put himself out on a line either, something most rappers are prevented from doing either because of their reputation or ego. This is evidenced by extremely personal verses on heartfelt tracks such as "Feelings", "The Voice" and "Love?", all of which can be found on his upcoming LP. Rarely has a hip-hop artist with incredible mainstream potential been able to gain street credibility without the usage of profane lyrics. If you are looking for tales of gun-busting, high-priced cars and blatant disrespect of the fairer sex, you are in the wrong place. His amazingly vivid lyrics and incredible wordplay has already warranted comparisons to MC's such as Nas and Rakim, however Omega maintains a style that is all his own. With outstanding writing ability and an unparalleled gift for devising original yet extremely creative concepts, Mega Trife should be a force to be reckoned with in the hip-hop world for years to come.

Anything else...?
Hey people, I'm just a student of hip-hop that enjoys making the music. I'm not out here trying to prove that I'm the best nor am I trying to "rip" this one or that one (unless I had to, lol...just kidding). But all jokes aside I do this because I'm displeased with the direction hip-hop is heading and has been heading since I'd say 1997. Hardly anybody is making the music I like anymore so instead of waiting for people to get back on track I started making music that I like. My main goal is that people hear my music, feel it and relate to it. A person approaching me on the street saying "Yo dog, I feel what you was going through in that track" or "Yo, you don't know how much that song helped me cuz I thought I was the only one that thought or felt like that" is worth more than any plaque. Although getting signed or going Gold or Platinum would fulfill the dream. But for real, I ain't a hater MC so if you feel me and you wanna collab just let me know because this is just something that I love to do. A special thanks in advance to anyone that would happen to think I'm wack because I turn negative energy into fuel that just makes me work harder therefore haters keep me from slacking. That's it for now. Now buy my CD fools!!...(kidding once again).
