The last time I saw you was in a radiant dream.
You sat on the white linen sheets of a simple bed.

That smile was on your face;
A smile I hadn’t seen for years.

How the bright light flooded the room
With its eggshell walls glowing.

You looked right at me,
Surrounded with the backlight of dawn,
To tell me of your safe arrival.

There’s nothing more for our last meeting,
Not a kiss or a tear.
Nothing more needs to said or known.

What was mystery will remain mystery.
What was revealed in your smile or the web of your eyes,
I have folded in the layers of my heart.
