After 20 years together, we started the Osteria Del Curaro project in 2005, dedicated to the exploration of ambient music, electronica, progressive rock, jazz-rock and electro-folk still in the solid wake of classic rock. We like to try unusual and different combinations of instruments (often played in an unconventional way), in a weird electro-acoustic blend. Our music is more organized than composed, because most (if not all) of our tracks come from improvisational material that has been revised and reworked at ease. We started as, and still are, a jam band, although nowadays technology allows us a higher control of the musical output.
Why this name?
A parody of the neighbourhood in Rome where we rehearse.
Do you play live?
We're not too keen to play live, but we'd do it on special events.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
A radical change: it gave more freedom and a better visibility to new bands, or artists who don't fit the standards required by music industry.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Can't see how could a major label be interested in our music.
Your influences?
Classic & progressive rock, ethnic music, ambient & electronica, jazz-rock / latin jazz.
Favorite spot?
Planet Earth
Equipment used:
