Electra Complex is a project i have had set in mind for a matter of apporximately 8 years now...Since i was 13. Only now am i beginning to focus on Electra Complex, because i am tired of putting the time i have to write into other people's music and remixes, although i am still willing to do so for people that are serious about their music. I look at the music as being complex, moody, angry, depressive, mellow, and many other things. Electra Complex's first EP is under the running title of Weapons of Mass Distortion
Why this name?
Electra Complex was just some weird idea i had one day when i was intoxicated under the use of illegal substances a few years back and i shocked myself on something. I told my friend Evan that i better not get some sort of electrical complex. And it just kind of stuck with me until i changed it to Electra Complex. but you can believe that if you really want to...
Do you play live?
Live shows will be a bit odd. I'll probably play guitar sometimes and keys sometimes, but vocals all the time.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I feel that the internet can help to promote music, such as Sound Click does or Mp3.com and IUMA. It is helping people to open up to new horizons of music and new bands that they might not ever known about. At the same time, it helps the artists get noticed and recognized.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Surely, it just depends what label.
Band History:
Holy crap...i'll get to this one later, unless you want to read alot...i'll slim this category down and come back with a short story for you
Your influences?
EBM, industrial, classical, melodic, noise, power noise, dark ambient, gabber, hardkore, floor pounding, whatever it may be...my songs usually have alot of texture to them and it's a bit combined musically. there can be a dark ambient piece playing with some seriously angry keys going on and a mellow beat. i just experiment until i like what i hear. most people think that your music will sound like your influences...sorry, that's not true unless you're downright ripping someone off.
Favorite spot?
San Francisco. Death Guild and DNA Lounge
Equipment used:
i'm running Reason 2.5 with an M-Audio midi controller. i just want hardware
