Red.October was born and raised in Texas and graduated from Full Sail in Florida with an Associates in Recording Arts and a Bachelors in Music Business on Nov. 2007. Red is a singer, songwriter, producer, and engineer. Since 14 Red has been rappin and producing since he was 15. Born to an Asian pops and a black mother, Red was exposed to many genres of music at a younger age and both his parents were on the road when they were in the military performing.

Red currently has a few projects slated for this year. Stated earlier, though red is from Texas, Red's sound cannot be generalized geographically, only musically if that. Red tries to inherit many different elements into his music, yet keep it accessible and catchy at the same. Doing more than just a step out the box, creating his own and deadbolt it shut. Ocky is not like them or any of the one hit, one sided individuals that swamp the music industry. He is Ocky, the Red.October, and its been a LONG road, and he just begun.
Why this name?
I got it from the movie obviously. Basically the Red October was a submarine that for one reason or another both the US and the Soviets were after. That's the short version. Basically I got the world after the Ocky (short for Red.October) ...plus my birthday is in October, and my talent is unbelievably horridly dope. RED.OCTOBER. scream it with pride, people.
Do you play live?
I play anywhere I can get in at this point. I need the exposure and that's the only way to get it; leave yourself available and don't pass up offers that could prove beneficial.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Good + Evil. ...i look at it more as good though. More power to it!!!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
What it boils down to is finding a label that understands my music, my direction, and my vision. These labels would help me define my sound instead of alter it, give me more space to create, and they'd support it 100% because they'd understand my position in the industry.
