SoundClick artist: El Pepo Diablo - Single-servant Music Supplier for the psyched out long nights

I'm a one-man-band focusing on the experimental parts of music. This does not mean that my songs are just sounds and samples edited over the limit of sense. I still want to keep a harmonic feeling in my songs.

If anyone would like to use some of my songs for a movie, multimedia or similiar, contact me. I also have a deep interest in making sound-FX and music for movies, and have done a bit of that too, I am available for that use as well.

Why this name?

The name El Pepo Diablo has a bit long history, i first just had the name Pepo. A friend once wrote to me that i was "El Pepo de Musicalo Diablo" as a joke, so it became El Pepo Diablo.

Do you play live?

For now I don't play anything live, since i just have my computer and the softwares within. So no one really knows I exist. And my equipment makes it hard to play anyting live, what i can do now is to mainly just play the songs. I am currently working on a more "live"-editing path.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

I think that mp3-sharing has both good and bad sides. the bad side are naturally the spreading of listed material which is very common right now, so the music industry looses a lot of (?) money. The good side is that artist like myself can get a little chance to get themselfes heard.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Of course i would. But i don't think any of the big major labels would sign my type of music. I concentrate on the likes of React, Skint, Warp, etc. Any kind of independent Label. Yet if there is interest in using my songs in films, multimedia or similiar, just contact me and we will come to a conclusion.

Band History:

I am now 24 years old. as long as i can remember i have been doing some type of music-making. It started very innocent with me in front of my 386 PC and fasttracker 2 somewhere back in the early 90's. At about the same time i started to play the guitar. I have since then been in two metal-bands and now i'm back in front of the computer-screen.

Depth Charge, Superdense Child, David Holmes, Dj Shadow, Four Tet, RJD2, Red Snapper, Nightmares on Wax, Dope on Plastic (1-8), Coldcut, Massive Attack, Portishead, Aphex Twin, Autechre, any type of turntablism, Trip-Hop, IDM, Dub, abstract and Underground Hip-Hop.
