Bubba Chubbs has been in the rap game for years. In Jr. High he had his first gig at a D.A.R.E. anti-drug rally. Rapping on stage with several other youths from his Roseville CA Jr. High. He was down with break beats and boom boxes back in the day.

Bubba's CD debut happened many years later when he, Bugzy Bugz and Antman started a group called the BedRoc Emsieze. Shortly after that an ad was placed in the Sacramento News and Review for another member. McToothPick was added to the frey. Many many songs were cut and performances took place in Northern California and Reno.

For whatever reason BRE was eventually dismantled, although the members all kept in touch. At this time Bubba Chubbs and McToothPick were roommates. They started a band called PenaltyBox. Again, many songs were created and there was one hell of a live performance at a Sacramento area bar called Capitol Gerage on the corners of Capitol and 16th.

PenaltyBox proved it's self here at SoundClick.Com with 2 #1 hits. Get Down with the Box and Violator. As much fun as it was, all good things must end.

Why this name?
Bubba Chubbs has somewhat of an oldschool style. Although the music that he produces is all state of the art - the Old School feeling is there. His early influences were greats such as Run DMC, the Beastie Boys, Biz Marquie, Tone LoC and Seattle Rapper Sir Mixalot.
Do you play live?
Sacramento is the place to be if you're into the Music Scene. Gotta Represent the home town.
GO KINGS!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
In a recent (9/5/03) article at MSNBC, they said that "UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP said it would cut the suggested sale price on a majority of its CDs by $6 to $12.98. The company hopes retailers will follow its lead and drop their CD prices to around $10 or less. The price changes would go into effect by Oct. 1."

I believe this is directly related to people downloading MP3s of the artists they love. I say good for the consumer - $20 for a CD is outreagous!

The article goes on to say "Under the new pricing structure, the wholesale price would be $9.09. The wholesale price for CDs by a handful of performers, including Eminem and Shania Twain, would be about a dollar more, said Jim Urie, president of Universal Music & Video Distribution."

Bubba Chubbs would like you to know that if he ever gets signed to Universal that he will see to it that his "Old School Bubba Chubbs" CDs aren't included in the dollar extra group.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes
