Yo whatup the names S.L.R. I started out at the age of 17 after my mom died with the song Is This The Life For Me. I never expected to continue making music, but I left it alone for awhile and I found it was the best way to vent then it became something I needed to make into a hobby and get a little serious with. I continue to better myself, and learn from great underground artists.
Why this name?
It was simple, Phenom Boi just sounded stupid when people would ask me my artist name. S.L.R. are my initials and I'm Simply S.L.R. all around, feel me?
Do you play live?
I haven't gotten the chance to go live yet, I hope I get to perform someday with other artists.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gets people that don't get the chance to meet with producers n everything to get their music heard, and its a pretty good way to do it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If someone wanted me to sign a record contract, hell yeah I would def. sign a deal.
Your influences?
My main influences for rap, honestly would have to be Basick, GnD, Cryptic Wisdom, and Emation. Basick has some of the greatest deep tracks I have ever heard, GnD was my first collab artist and gave me tips, cryptic has amazing concept and delivery while emation is a very well rounded artist.
Favorite spot?
Right now ATL is where it's at. Clubs are hot, the Georgia peach are hotter. It's where its at!
Equipment used:
I'm using Cakewalk Sonar Home Studio 7, A condenser mic and preamp for it and of course a pop filter b.
