Why this name?
It's the one I was given when I was born, and I've always kind of liked it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's great. I get to sit on my sofa and record songs, and you get to listen to them!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure! Why not? I wouldn't be able to tour too much, though. I've got several day jobs (and a few evening jobs, as well).
Your influences?
Mostly country and folk, from John Prine and Merle Haggard to Bob Dylan and lots of stuff in between---Old 97s, Uncle Tupelo, John Wesley Harding, Billy Bragg, John Hiatt, and a whole lot of other folks.
Favorite spot?
Action Jackson Heights!
Equipment used:
A Gibson J-160E, a Guild D-25, a Heritage Prospect, a Gretsch 6118T, some Telecasters (a '72 reissue Tele Deluxe and a G&L ASAT Special), all left-handed, a Fender Blues Jr. and an Ampeg Jet, some pedals, and some really cool boots.
Anything else...?
I'd love for y'all to come to some shows if you're in the NYC area, or buy my songs here from soundclick or from itunes. I guess that's all. All the best,
JHO
