I'm not cool enough to be in a band. Instead, I pound away at a keyboard, pretending to know what I'm doing, trying to emulate the sound of a large 70+ piece orchestra. I write film scores, with or without a film.

I'm not educated as a musician (I wouldn't really call myself educated at all), nor am I employed as one. It's simply a hobby that I'm lucky enough to explore. I'm actually an editor aspiring to be a cinematographer (who also directs). I like to know a little (or a lot) about every aspect of filmmaking, and music is the most out of my realm of 'expertise' but I find it the most fascinating.

I like all kinds of scores, everything from Jerry Goldsmith's "Alien" to Ezio Bosso's "I'm Not Scared." I tend to find myself writing bigger more bombastic pieces...partially because I think it's a hell of a lot of fun...but also because I find it's easier to hide the fact that my instruments are digital if there's a lot of them layered together. I've only recently begun to experiment with smaller scale pieces like '10 Little Indians' and 'A Killer in their Midst.' I actually quite like the sound of only 10-15 instruments playing, it has a raw intensity that can be just as driving or emotional as the biggest orchestra for the biggest movie...and sometimes more so (just not the stuff I write...).
Why this name?
Well, since I didn't have other band members throwing their own ridiculous ideas at me, my choice was the only choice.

That...and it was given to me at birth.
Do you play live?
None of the music I've written has been performed live, unfortunately, but I would like to start with a very small ensemble for my next project. I'd love to work with an orchestrator for such a project.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I don't like this question anymore, this feels like a test in High School. Not okay.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Ha!
Band History:
I didn't actually start thinking about writing music until about five years ago. I took one class on music theory and left school (for other reasons, the music class was fantastic). Now I'm working as an editor and trying to find film-scoring projects on the side.

I'm not out to become a composer (I'll leave that to the Pro's), but I find it fascinating and quite fun, so I'll keep doing it if people don't run screaming when they hear what I've made.
Your influences?
Jerry Goldsmith, Elliot Goldenthal, Michael Giacchino, Mark Snow, James Newton Howard, Graeme Revell, Richard Band, Bill Brown, Hans Zimmer, Cliff Martinez, Dennis McCarthy, Elia Cmiral, Howard Shore, Patrick Doyle
Favorite spot?
If there was one city on Earth I could live in, it'd be London...followed by Ontario, San Francisco, and New York.
Equipment used:
3.0Ghz Mac Pro, 8Gb RAM, EWQLSO PLAY - Gold, VSL Special Edition, VSL Soprano Choir, and a cheapo keyboard that really doesn't do me any good.
Anything else...?
There are some people out there who need to learn the term 'humility.' You're not the best, don't pretend to be. But don't say you're the worst either, cause that title's all mine b*tches!

P.S. Jerry Goldsmith's the best.
