Band History:
Luca Vecchio was born in Catania in the 1971. He begins to play, to write and to sing at 17 years old with the Pyrosis, a college folk rock band. Pyrosis collects lots of performances, in pubs, theatres and indie meetings.

In 1990, he records a demo tape that sells out in few times. Next year Pyrosis record, a mini cd (6 tracks) for the Lollypop records an Italian indie label. With “Without reason” (the title of cd) Luca Vecchio collects consents from major indie magazines, as an example: Rockerilla (Italy), Urlo (Italy), Rumore (Italy), CMJ (USA), Melody maker (GB), La Sicilia (Italian newspaper).

"Fetch the dictionary again. `Pyrosis' means `waterbrash,' from `pyr,' the Latin for fire. Start again. Pyrosis are Sicilians, from Catania, near Mount Etna, where other Italian indie home-legends have also been thrown up. Where other Italian underground bands have heavily mined a garage-retro vein, Pyrosis is a newer generation, with roots in post-R.E.M. Amerindie restoration, its folk-blues vibrations set in a more timeless pop agenda. Luca Vecchio's nasal, vibrato husk might recall Stipe but his resemblance to Dave Cousins of U.K. folk-pop originals the Strawbs is uncanny. Without Reason reflects the band's outside-looking-in location, where Translantic narrow-mindedness is lacking; hence "Outgrow"'s merge of R.E.M. with Dire Straits, or "Jennifer'"s splice of drifting, dream-stained plangency with the piss-stained, bluesy rakishness of `60s punk renegades like the Standells. Throughout, the band tingles with reflective ardor, isolated as they are in bucolic beauty, probably dreaming of West or East Coast freedom, blossomed by making a stand in an unsympathetic environment-Vecchio is a classic, restless linchpin. That heart-twist hunger pervades its music, most of all in "Red Regime" and "Leader Did On Time." "A diamond in the stone," the press release erroneously puts it, and you have to agree. Anyway, a band with a 14-year-old drummer called Carmelo Di Paola Semimara has to be more than alright. The Italian Reckoning, at the very least."

To promote the record the band played in Italy, Belgium, Ireland, and Spain. The tour consisted in lives, TV show and radio lives.

The Rough trade was interested in them for a reprinting of “Without reason”, but at last four components had left the group. So the Pyrosis dead!

They sold 3000 copies only without a true distribution.

Luca Vecchio has followed his way and since 10 years he has been writing poetry and songs.

He sound’s researches and has become a consultant for many local bands.

Now he plays a day a year only in theatre when he presents his works.

After 10 years, he has decided to record 12 tracks, but actually no record label is interested at his works. So, he thinks of printing a single for promotion...

Recorded in 2002 september at the LAIF Studio by Emmanuel Maccarone, Blu goes out in 2002 october. Produced by Salvo Urzì and Luca Vecchio. Salvo has played guitars and more. Special guest Carmelo Sciuto ( Jerica's - thanks to Indigena Records).
