Why this name?
Our original song "Land of Harvest", which speaks of... "Walking in the desert place, Longing for the land of Harvest, " was written during a turning point in our lives. This song was written as a cry of desperation in the trials of a difficult pastoral ministry, but was also a declaration of determination. "If I never see fruit I still yield, for You walk with me in this Your field..." , no matter what, we choose to serve Christ and follow Him. This song is our theme, and thus...our name.
Do you play live?
We play at NewEngland Christian Coffeehouses, Christian Conference Centers, and at Churches.
We love the Coffeehouse setting, it frees us up to do more originals, and the atmosphere is so laid back, yet worshipful.
When we look out and see people worshipping the Lord, we think..."How could we be so blessed, as to be a part of what God is doing in this place?"
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Honestly we are just tapping into what is out there for musicians. It is such a tool in sharing the gifts and talents of the average musician, who may never go to Nashville, or get a "break".
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If they wouldn't make us water down our message about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Band History:
We started out as a couple who played guitars and sang in bars. But, in the early 90's, we got saved, and gave our music over to our Lord. We were so thrilled to have 4 kids who can really "blow", great harmonies started developing in the family car on long road trips. Then they picked up instruments, piano, bass, electric guitar, recorder, etc. and as we praticed we got tighter. We wrote music, because we were to poor to pay for someone elses copy righted stuff. Then we found out that writing was one of our favorite things of all. How exciting to take what's on your heart, and write it down, and then give it a set of chords and a melody! It becomes a "REAL" song.
Your influences?
We love to listen to Rebecca St. James, Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, Todd Agnew, Third Day, and Caedmon's Call. But...do we sound like them? Probably not, we try to do our own style, which can be celtic, country, rock, progressive.
Favorite spot?
Standing on the docks at Burnham Point State Park, at the Thousand Islands in NY.
Equipment used:
Goya accoustic, Schecter diamond series electric accoustic, Custom PA, Roland keyboard.
