Begotten is about the relationship between man and God. The music is very untraditional and experimental. Songs tend to be religious in nature, but some may not.

The music may not sound crisp and clean, but it is not mainly due to poor sound creation ( for the most part it is). The music should sound rather muffled, poor, and not so crisp. With this, it captures the mood of the piece and style.

Begotten is experimental, so don't think all songs sound the same or similiar.
Why this name?
Got the idea of using this name when I was working for a college computer class. The students had to think up a band name for a CD cover design project. Inspired by the movie Begotten, I chose the name...
Do you play live?
Kind of...I'll play on a piano or anything I may see...if people listen that's fine.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has made it easier to learn about new bands. People no longer need to rely on just word of mouth about a new band or old band that may or may not be well known. MP3's have made it easier to hear what a band sounds like. People need to purchase a particular album and not download it (unless the band says otherwise). Downloading mp3's is stealing.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Probably not.
Band History:
Begotten formed in the year 2003 from a college assignment. Under a previous name (Carrots), I was making experimental music; however, the music didn't really have much meaning to it or a message. With Begotten, I have improved with skill and now the music has a specific meaning and message.

Begotten is a one man band, though anyone who shares my vision is welcomed to collaborate.
Your influences?
God, untuned AM radio, dying industrial things, various sounds and various people.
Favorite spot?
Favourite spot on earth...Christ the King Church.
Anything else...?
I hope you enjoy what is here...Don't expect professional quality and traditional music. It is suppose to be crude, imperfect, and untraditional.
