Lyrical Pain: Soul with snap, crunk with the funk, music for your brain that knock in the trunk
Why this name?
Well Lyrical Pain basically means giving our opponents pain lyrically instead of violently. We are a positive rap group and we give other rappers pain lyrically, because we're killing the rap game.
Do you play live?
We've done a couple of live shows. One in particular was at the Oconee Civic Center. It was a talent show, and we placed 2nd.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Oh definitely, because it's a lot easier to get your music out there. You can reach people all over the world right from your computer.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of Course. We're striving to not only affect the music industry, but peoples lives. We want to inspire through our music, and still have something you will be entertained listening to.
Band History:
Lyrical Pain was formed in 2005 at BHL Middle School in Athens, GA. The original members were Donarell R.Green,V(D-Rell) Torrence Wilcher(T.G.), and Raymone Howell(Constant). Do to the moving of T.G. and Constant Lyrical Pain was reduced to one member D-Rell. Until D-Rell invited Marlon Wymbs(M_AZIN) into the group their freshman year at Clarke Central High School the 2005-2006 school year. D-Rell and M-AZIN started rapping together since 7th grade, but never officially formed a group. D-Rell and M_AZIN began recording songs over the phone onto a tape recording, using beats from artists like, Snoop Dogg, Dem Franchize Boyz, Paul Wall, and more. Most of this was for fun though, until they begin recording original songs when D-Rell figured out a way to record digitally through a program on his computer called Sound Recorder. In the their sophmore year the 2006-2007 year, D-Rell made the beat to their first original song using his beat machine and a Numark cd player, called "Boss Exactly". Lyrical Pain continued to develope their sound, and upgraded to a recording program called, Pro Tools. They put their first songs on Myspace which were, Boss Exactly, Gangsta Lean, King and Queens, and Step Up To the Mic(Bass In Ya Face). Lyrical Pain plans to finish their first cd, "Extradose" by 2008, and release it around Athens, and hopefully get that big deal they have been waiting for.
