Digital Slave - affectionately known by his fans as Digi - describes his work as "eccentric, eclectic and hypnotic". One listen through a handful of tracks reveals this to be very true, with the likes of Walking On The Sun being a viable commercial dance release whereas the blistering techstep beats of Penance will appeal mainly to the hardened drum & bass fans. Unsatisfied with just one genre over the years, Digi has tapped into Hi-NRG, classical and industrial to name but a few styles. Eclectic is surely an understatement.
Why this name?
Digital Slave was chosen after researching the Gor religion, wherein many females are 'slaves' until wed or released. With the digital generation upon us, the two worlds collided and Digital Slave was born.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has changed music massively and permanently. Piracy reigns with everyone downloading new songs all the time thanks to MP3 compression and P2P filesharing. However it's clear that the net is the future of music too, with Pay Per Downloads becoming popular especially as piracy is clamped down on. I see the internet as the best medium for indie artists to get themselves noticed.

Your influences?
I've got a wide range of influences - classical music and world music (African rhythms, Arabic melodies and so forth) are big influences on me. Artist-wise, I have a wide selection that influence me. Favorite spot?
Japan! I'd love to move there someday. I adore it's cultures, mindset, just... everything about it. I'm heavily attracted to Japan, always have been.
