I'm a twenty-something FL native, and have been making beats with FL Studio since 2001. My ear for music came from my parents, my father being a bad ass bass player and producer, and my mother a singer. I'm really not looking to gain fame or blow up in this industry, but I do want my tracks to be heard, and hopefully one day, blessed by the greatest of MCs, singers, poets, and movie producers for film soundtracks.

Why this name?

I just chose something simple, "Beats By Miss Dee" because I know that at the end of the day, it's something I can live with.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

I think the internet has changed the music industry because it allows artists of all credentials, famous or indie, to shine.

I have an ecclectic taste in music, and my idols range from Prince, Sting, Phil Collins, George Clinton, The Isley Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Marvin Gaye, The Gap Band, Earth Wind and Fire, Teena Marie, Minnie Ripperton -- to Timbaland, The Neptunes, Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Nas, Kelis, Amy Winehouse, Erykah Badu, Common, Jay-Z, Chrisette Michelle, Lauryn Hill, The Roots, Gnarls Barkley, Lupe Fiasco, Snoop Dogg, and of course last but not least, the Lady Jill Scott.... to name a few!
