I ain't a band I'm a solo artist. I'm an emcee, singer and dancer. Check me out on www.myspace.com/mcladydizzla
Why this name?
A friend of mine (who is the slang queen) was joking about saying "what's the Dizzla?" and I was like huh what you on about woman and then she explained to me that Dizzla means 'deal'. So from there I became Lady Dizzla because I am the Dizzla!
Do you play live?
I rap and sing in my bedroom. Nah I ain't ready to perform yet. I've only performed twice, once at a bar and another time back when I was in school.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It kind of makes things a bit easier. As in artists can get more exposure and contacting the right people becomes easy aswell. Apart from the fact you get people stealing other peoples music then claiming it as their own...I think it's happened for the better. That's how I got noticed!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
The only problem with major labels is that they have a dozen other artists that they manage aswell. So you don't get that personal relationship to motivate you and make you feel comfortable. But still...I wouldn't mind.
Your influences?
My main influence is Busta Rhymes. I got into rapping listening to him. My singing influence is the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
Favorite spot?
