L.U.V IS THE ANSWER…

L.U.V., which stands for Lovely Uplifted Voice, has performed on stage and television and had her music placed in movies. These things under her belt, she has recently decided to shed an old skin and don a new one. In this new skin, she promises to fulfill lifelong dreams and follow her musical destiny by putting new, independent music in the foreground.

Firmly DIY, she will sing about the things that matter most to her and hopes she can touch those who respond to her invocation.

For her, new music is the greatest gift to both receive and give. Hot new indie music is the source of creativity and free expression, and is the wave of the future.

Why this name?
I suppose you can call me the artist formerly known as Rae' Ven Rae. After "creative differences" with my management team, I went independent, revamped and decided to go DIY. The name I chose for myself was LUV, because I wanted to take my work in a more fun and alternatively spiritual direction.
Do you play live?
I love playing live--nothing is better than connecting to the audience and belting it out as you feel it ( fun and purging all at once--hummmm), Although I am slightly introverted, I do enjoy meeting with people and just learning all about them

I perform about town, but Have hit regional stages as well!

The only somewhat "special" moment I have had was during a live performance when my wrap around dress fell apart during a song, exposing me undies (boy was I glad I wore underwear that day) and yes--it is on video...saved...for posterity...

Doh!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
As with anything new, there was a ton of good, and some bad associated with mp3 technology. The bad of course, can be translated into lackluster sales for artists who were already being raped by record labels.

The upside--artists can take control of THEIR OWN MUSIC and distribute it the way they want to, allowing it to get to the people who want to hear it! This new paradigm is making independent artists stronger--and the record companies weaker...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No.
