I am LAN-LORD an underground producer. I have produced many people but most of them are from atlanat and they too are underground. I'm currently working on an artist by the name of Lil Wil who has a single out called "My Dougie", his album will be out real soon. I try to make different sounding beats, i can make beats for ALL kinds of music. I like making wierd tracks crazy sounding tracks, i try not to stick to the commercial type sound you hear cause it all kinda sounds the same now. I do alot of crunk southern beats too mainly because tahts where i come from and thats the type of artists i deal with but i would really love to work with singers such as, janelle moanae, holly weerd, M.I.A., justin timberlake, christina aguilera and many more that stand out. Give me an instrument and i'll learn. I've learned to play music by ear and it has gotten me very far. I know how to read ceartain types of music too(Oboe, Piano). I do sampling here and there and if you hear a sampled track, its from a song that I like. I love music and i will continue to do this for the rest of my life, look for me this year!
Why this name?
Well, my real name is Orlan, and a friend of mine's was like, just take the LAN and call urself Lan-Lord because Landlords collect money from people, and thats what i intend to do.
Do you play live?
Not really, in producer battles and such in Atlanta, recently in Birmingham.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well there's no doubt that it has changed a lot but ithink if people really like it, then they will by it. I think music has o come back to being meaningful and fun. People like to dance a lot but dance songs are mostly one hit wonders. But, it gets more artist known and also, you can still make some money off of Mp3's, you just gotta set it up right.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If its the right deal, becuase labels are always trying to pull some slick stuff, i really didn't even wanna sign with a label, i would like to start my own with the production money i make. I wanna be my own boss.
Band History:
I'll just tell you a little history, i been doing this for well over 13 years, i was born to do music. I took a few piano lessons but music really jump started for me when i was in band and and a few other guys would make beats with live instruments, me playing the oboe, lol. any way it took me all they to 2008 and it will take me beyond. I know a lot about all music and the best musicians. I am HE who will change the face of the industry.
Your influences?
Pharrell, Kanye West, Timbaland, Dj Toomp, Shawty redd. You can probably hear a little of all of them in my music, they all have completely different syles.
Favorite spot?
ATLANTA!
Equipment used:
anything i can get my hands on, Mostly FL5,6, and 7, Reason 4, and an MPC2000xl whenevr i can get my hands on it. I also use my favorite Korg Micro Kontrol.
Anything else...?
I look forward to changing the music game along with the other talented unknown producers out there.
