I am a keyboardist. I produce all of my music - composing, performing, arranging, mixing and mastering in my home studio. I do not use computer generated 'loops', so every note you hear is composed from my head and played on my keyboard, using any variety of instruments that I can put together. I want to create something you can enjoy listening to. I like to try and tell a story or convey a message in my music and I have my own unique style so check me out and tell me what you think.
Why this name?
I'm 6' 4" tall with a large frame and my last name ends in King.
Do you play live?
I have little desire to perform live, I just like to produce my own music at my home studio.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives hobbyist musicians like myself a chance to distribute our music freely so many people can hear it. It also makes it extremely difficult to stand out, but it's a great way to get noticed by peers.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If I was offered one maybe, but I don't see it happening.
Band History:
I have been playing keyboard since I was 8 years old when I started taking lessons with the founder of a local fine arts center. I learned basic techniques mostly on electronic and pipe organs and some piano. At 15 years old I started playing full wedding services and mass services at a local church, which I did for about 12 years. When I was 25 I finally decided to pursue a lifelong dream of making my own music. My first album titled 'Out There' was completed in March 2008 and my latest album title 'Mightier Than The Sword' was completed in May 2011.
Your influences?
I am influenced by all music but mostly by instrumental guitar greats like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Eric Johnson which give me the confindence that music can be felt and listened to without the need for words. I'm also a fan of rock, blues, jazz, R&B, classical, polka and pretty much anything else.
Equipment used:
I use a Roland Fantom S Workstation Keyboard for composing then transfer to my computer. I mix with AcidPro and master with Ozone Izotope.
Anything else...?
"A picture is worth a thousand words. Music is worth a thousand pictures."
