Why this name?
I have found beauty and freedom in living my life far away from the herd. The underlying message to music is the idea that we can find ourselves by hiding away with those people closest to us...by absconding.
Do you play live?
I have played live in very small, intimate pubs and lounges in Eastern Europe.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
- Radio has become irrelevant and has been replaced by social networking as the primary way fans discover new music
- The growth of podcasts and independent video has created a large demand for music that can be used for free.
- When music is essentially free to produce, doesn't it make sense for artists to make the music available for free to fans?
- This is an enormous opportunity for musicians to declare themselves free from the "business" aspects of music...focusing on the magic of the music itself.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It isn't going to happen.
Band History:
The band history is my personal history. You can understand me through my music and my weblog (www.abscondo.net).
Your influences?
My recent influences include Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, Wolfsheim, Kings of Convenience, Pulp, Nouvelle Vague, many other (mostly European) groups.
Favorite spot?
Kosice (Slovakia), Paris, Seattle, Amsterdam, Prague, Vancouver.
Equipment used:
My collection of guitars, various percussion instruments...mixed through Live.
Anything else...?

To listen to society preaching its morality is no longer acceptable. Look around! Can any evidence of virtue be found within the concept of nation, culture, movement?

The crowd has lost its morality and any conception of good can now only exist in the individual, or in the intimate relationship.

"From the late 18th century onwards, it is no longer from the practice of community but from being a wanderer that the instinct of fellow-feeling is derived. Thus an essential isolation and silence and loneliness become the carriers of nature and community against the rigours, the cold abstinence, and selfish ease of ordinary society."
