We have a greater catalogue of music to choose from, we can get music faster or more lazily (depending on how you look at it :P), music has grown from a subject for fanaticism to the object of many cults, and the music you listen to is no-longer dependent on what is at the top of the charts and your local bands/musicians.

I always had an interest in playing and composing for piano (and keyboard). but i took more of an interest thanks to taking music in highschool.

I don't tend to take influence from songs. But if i ever come across a song i like the style of and think it would suit me, i might incorporate it into my work. For instance, with Subtle Sleep, i started out with an idea of Children Of The Night by The Spazmatics (google it). Other than that, maybe meat loaf or generic classic piano rock.

Alot of companies make ridiculously complicated names for their products. "Sennheiser HD 202 Around-Ear Headphones" ... how about "Senphones HD"?
