Innovative artist, composer, and classically trained vocalist, Andrea Plamondon has been compared to singers as diverse as, Lisa Gerrard, Siouxie Sioux, Kate Bush, Ofra Haza and others, and has performed in many of San Francisco's most avant gard clubs and venues. The first band fronted by Plamondon, garnered press in the nineties, while her 2008 anthology "I Still Remember", an intriguing slice of the San Francisco underground, has received praise both for it's originality and it's diversity, and has aired on internet and college radio in the United States and abroad. The work combines her artistry with some of the most unusual alternative rock bands ever to grace the Bay Area.
Why this name?
J'adore le francais...
Do you play live?
I've played a lot of shows over the years, mostly in San Francisco at various venues ie. clubs, private parties, events like Burning Man and others... I think my favorite gig was the "Dark Autumn Festival" which was held at a natural outdoor amphitheatre outside of SF. The acoustics were amazing and the audience said our band (Satyrica at the time) sounded like angels...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Band History:
There are five very different ensembles included on my slice of the San Franciscan underground, "I Still Remember".
Your influences?
Multifarious...
Favorite spot?
You would ask me that...
Equipment used:
As a performer and a vocalist I try to keep it light and simple... I usually pack a good microphone and an effects processor, since most venues have their own sound system. As an alternative I sometimes perform A Capella which is as light as it gets... I also have a lightweight yamaha digital keyboard that I never leave behind...
