Monthigos
NEWS
I have to apologize - I really dropped the ball on composition efforts this year. I did recently upload a track I did for my podcast. It does not sound like my typical tracks, but perhaps some of you might get a kick out of it.

Greeting folks, and thanks for stopping by my page on soundclick.com. Here's a little information about myself:
My moniker is Monthigos and I enjoy writing music in my spare time. I've been composing since 1993, although most of my old stuff is in MOD and XM format, and not really worth showing off. I've primarily written music for video games, and the style is probably still prevalent in my latest works.
In the last few years I've stepped up my composition efforts after being lax for a while. The results of my labors are the songs that are available on this site, plus numerous more that remain unfinished on my computer.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by!

Why this name?
Originally it was the name of a boss monster for a video game I was making in my early teens. I still remember the circumstances of the name's birth. I was hanging out on my parent's deck brainstorming names on a warm summer's day when it popped into my head. I didn't actually use the name for myself until a bit later. I went through a phase where I was switching screen names regularly back in my AOL days, and Monthigos just stuck.
Do you play live?
I don't play live...yet.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
There has been an explosion of independent artists. You can distribute your music and have it heard by a plethora of people without having the backing of a label. Listeners have a lot more choices in music. Lastly piracy is pretty rampant.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Getting paid big bucks to make music? I've had my fair share of crappy jobs and all I have to say is "where do I sign?"
Band History:
See my introduction. I've been working on music since about 1993, but I've taken quite a few break since then.
Your influences?
I really couldn't say to be honest. I hear a lot of cool things out there but when it comes to the creative process I generally just go off the seat of my pants.
Favorite spot?
Honolulu was a great place to live, but I'll always love the city I consider home: SLC. Its got all the seasons, its got all the stores, and its got a myriad of different people.
Equipment used:
VAIO Laptop, FL Studio 8, Garritan Personal Orchestra, Line 6 TonePort UX2, Shure SM58 Microphone, Sennheiser HD280 Pro Headphones, Ibanez ART-100
