We're five crazy home-grown rappers from the east side of Dayton. T-rev, 2 Slow, Krazy Kane, Phat Pak, and Shorty G are the diabolical forces that make the Dayton Dawgs.
Why this name?
Well the first half was easy, we all live in and love Dayton. Then we just started throwin stuff around til we heard one we all liked, and Dayton Dawgs just clicked in our head like "There it is!"
Our label name was even easier, our zip codes all start with 454, and the Dayton Dawgs can also be known as the DD. 45DD just sounds a lot better that 454DD.

Do you play live?
Not yet, but someday we will.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It lets people's music get heard on another level that you can't do with selling CDs. I don't see why everybody gets so mad at the file sharing programs. So what, you're losing a few bucks, it's not like they don't have enough as it is. If they really sat down and thought outside of the box, somebody might have never really wanted to listen to them, found their song online, liked it, and bought the full CD later. That's what I do.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
That's one bridge that can be decided on if it's safe enough to cross later. I'm not saying we won't. But we're not really going to go out of our way to make something happen. If somebody hears our music and wants to do something, then we'll probrably do it. It just depends on what they want.
Band History:
We started as just 2 people, T-rev and Phat Pak. Just 2 kids playing with a microphone and a computer program. It was all freestyles at first. Then they managed to pull me in, followed by Krazy Kane and Shorty G. We found out that writing the music lets it flow a LOT better. Now here we are, putting ourselves out there for the world to see.
Your influences?
That's a hard one to answer, we all have our own influences. Some of us thrive on the insanity spit out of the mouths of the Insane Clown Posse and Twiztid, others go from the gangsta ways of 50 Cent. But for each of us, there is no one influence, and there is no certain style.
Favorite spot?
The DAWG pound, our home, Dayton.
Equipment used:
We have a $20 microphone, and an old recording program installed on a crap computer.
Anything else...?
Someday, we can change the world of rap and get these ridiculous people off the radio.
