We're four youngsters from Essex, England, who just came together through other bands breaking up. We spent a few week rehearsing to see how we gelled, and it came together pretty soon after that, with songs being compiled quickly. After a while we hit the live show circuit, and we're building on that with a free demo, and loads of free gigs. We're a mixture of too many influences to mention - Hardcore, Metal, Punk, Emo, old school 80's metal, and other alternative artists. We can't define ourselves to any one genre, so we like to call ourselves plain old Rock - very scene.
Why this name?
It's the name of a Joy Division song - our singer, Joe, is a big fan.
Do you play live?
We play live around the Essex/Romford/North London area. We absolutely LOVE playing live - it's much more intense than sitting in a studio playing tracks into a mixing desk. We're definately a live band - we get a lot of interaction from the crowd going, and we feed off that ourselves. This might sound a bit egotistical, but not one person has said they disliked our show, even people not into our music at all!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is a brilliant chance for young, up and coming bands to advertise and introduce thier music to a much broader audience. And I think it works for established artists too - there's so many bands we hadn't heard of that we found through the Net, and are now major fans of. And, therefore, bought thier records!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
if the chance came across it'd definately be something we'd go for. Record labels help with a lot of things - such a production, advertisement, management, and of course paying the bills! But it'd have to be on our terms - bands who sign just for the cash and instant fame and then get totally screwed over by all and sundry get everything they deserve!
Your influences?
We have so many influences.. picking on random ones, we'd say Poison The Well, Deftones, Skycamefalling, Dillinger Escape Plan, Glassjaw, Taproot, Joy Division, Iggy Pop, From Autumn To Ashes, Machine Head, Pantera, Pearl Jam.. So many to name!
Favorite spot?
Good question..
Anything else...?
Uh. Let us know what you think? Would be much appreciated! Criticism is as important as praise, so if you think we're rubbish, tell us why!
