Well, I guess this is where i tell you all about me, but i wont i gotta keep a few things a mystery. Im from an old mill town named Lowell, Massachusetts. This town was a complete slum about 10 years ago flooded with crack cocaine and heroin (this town was in the HBO movie called "High On Crack Street"). I spent most of my childhood and life either here in Lowell, or back in my native home of Comerio, Puerto Rico. When I was growing up Lowell was one of the worst cities in the state for crime, gangs plagued the streets and the gang warfare was taking all sorts of lives, both those of innocent and those of the gangstas as well. All my life experiences i have lived both good and bad have molded my style and my music.
Why this name?
Well.. i guess this is pretty simple.. They've always called Lowell "The Mill City" because it has a bunch of old industrial era mills and those were the lifeblood of the city until manufacturing jobs started moving other places. But to this day they still call it mill city, and this is where im from. Im Mistah Millz
Do you play live?
Right now im focusing on getting my mixtape together before i start worrying about lining up live shows.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, i think it makes it has a good effect. Think of it this way, before it was okay to download music and pay for it or whatever, people were buying cd's for one or two songs, when most of the music on it was garbage. Now if an artist wether it be a rapper or a band has to put out the best music they can, so that all their songs are good, so that people will wanna buy their whole album not just buy the 2 or 3 hot tracks on ITunes, im hoping that its gonna raise the bar because half the sh*** out there getting pumped on the radio by the industry is garbage.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Hell yeah i would.. thats like telling me hey... i have a way for you to sell 16 million records and cement your place in hip hop for eternity.. do you wanna do it? Ofcourse im gonna do it.
