Quitting Work is an indie electronic outfit from Detroit. It is comprised soley of primary songwriter/musician Darrin Smith. An unusual blend of influences results in a sound that was described by one producer as sounding both retro and orignal.
Why this name?
It has mass appeal.
Do you play live?
Not at this time.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's liberating. It gives unsigned artists the much increased ability to promote themselves.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No, they need to be brought down!
Band History:
The music has been many years in the making. Quitting Work recently completed the "A Blind Cat" single this summer and is currently working on other projects.
Your influences?
Indie rock, post-punk, new wave, synth-pop, anything else that strikes my fancy.

Strings, circuits and vocals.
