Born into a family of musicians Rayn Cumiskey is a singer/songwriter that has been singing and playing guitar since she was a child. Encouraged by other musicians she began writing songs two years ago and shows no signs of stopping. Audiences and musicians alike describe her as a "Weaver of Stories", her songs "haunting & melodic", "poignant and engaging". As one musician describes: "She crosses a classical style of guitar playing with a tricky little Travis Pick."
Why this name?
Gypsy Wind is the name of one of my first songs and I liked it for a band name as well.
Do you play live?
Yes and I enjoy it a great deal. Connecting with the audience is an amazing experience of shared energy.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has opened up a whole new world of communication and opportunity to be heard everywhere and anywhere. It is a great resource for singer/songwriters to network and get to be known.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes
