SoundClick artist: mellosonic - Mellosonic aka Chris J. Brown, Keyboardist, Audio Engineer, Now writing material for T.V. and Movie

Friend's of mine called me mello (because I usually am) but I happened to be working on some synth parts at the time and the engineer (Bob Tiwana) called me mellosonic and it stuck.

Do you play live?

I play around southern California and Las Vegas with different groups and in different studios. My favorite place to play is a little bar called Callahan's in Irwindale, CA...it's like jamming in your living room...

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

It eventually will help those musicians that know how to play instruments and can play them live....it has opened up options to those who are tech savvy and it gives everyone a place to be represented equally...

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Those days are going by the wayside - major labels have lost sight of what the purpose of good music is...bling bling only goes so far....I'd sign if I could tour all over the world....

Band History:

Mom was a piano teacher, I was playing recitals by the time I was 5 years old......

Your influences?

I like all kinds of music, I always enjoy jazz, funk, r&b and jazz fuzion, but I can get into everything from classical to blues to country to techno...and I do have my metal moments...

Favorite spot?

Southern California, it's all happening here
