The CSRA's premiere live band is now the Southeast's Premiere Live Band! Out of Augusta, Georgia comes Letterbox, a five piece group of talented musicians that perform music for a variety of events and parties. Formerly known as Soul Kitchen, Letterbox was featured in the 2006 issue of Brides and Bouquets magazine and comes highly recommended for your wedding's live music needs! From Atlanta to Charleston, and Savannah to Charlotte let Letterbox play for your next event.

Letterbox is made up of experienced entertainers with a highly professional attitude. They are also a member of Gigmasters.com. Book your DJ or Live Band event today.

The band is best described as a party band. Capable of playing your child's graduation party or wedding, or even your father's retirement party, Letterbox covers a variety of music that fits most any event. They could even play an entire evening of original material should that be requested. Although quite versitile, Letterbox is focused on what they do: play the best music they can to the masses! For a list of examples, please visit the Music section of this website and listen to some of their tracks recorded live at events.

Band History:
In 2004 guitarist Mike Thurmond and vocalist Jeff Story formed a band tentatively called SD-6. Intially they invited drummer Kevin Bloodsworth and bassist Keith Carlson. In late 2004, Mike's brother Jon joined the band as the keyboardist and backing vocalist. With the five members together, the band finally made a musical decision about their direction. They also established the name Soul Kitchen and began playing local gigs and parties.

As news about the band began the circulate, so did the requests for their presence. In 2005 they began traveling outside the Augusta, Georgia area to play to sold out engagements. It was during this time that they also began to notice a need for a name change (as it turns out, Soul Kitchen is popular name for jazz bands in the south and Letterbox is NOT a jazz band). So was born Letterbox!

Through 2006 Letterbox continued to wow audiences and bring a party everywhere they played. At the beginning of 2007, Letterbox showed continued growth by more than doubling their previous play list of songs. Once more it was time for a change, this time in the form of a lineup change. Letterbox let their previous bass player go and got some fresh and funky blood with Ricky Williams as their new bass player. Sometimes accompanied by percussionist Tal Price, this five piece going on six piece ensemble continues to play to sold out events.
