Hi I'm James, a home studio-dwelling musician & song writer from Wellington in New Zealand. Welcome to my Soundclick page!
Why this name?
Hey, it's just me!
Do you play live?
I honestly haven't played live for years, barring the odd party-piece. I did play bass in a band for a theatrical production in 1993. We did nine shows of Sleeping Beauty.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows artists and audiences access to each other, so I guess the internet has really opened up who we can be heard by, and who we can hear.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Um, doubtful.
Band History:
I started learning to play the recorder when I was six. I started on the guitar and bass at age 17. When I was 21 I got a 4-track porta-studio... lots of grungey recordings later I'm really beginning to hone my techniques and turn out some pretty decent stuff.
Your influences?
I have a great admiration for Syd Barrett's work with Pink Floyd and as a solo artist. I'm also a big fan of Black Sabbath.
