MapleMario
NEWS   After my move to Ubuntu Linux, I've also switched to LMMS (Linux Multimedia Studio). It's very similar to FL studio but I find that I can achieve much better results with it. Expect more....
Also, I've renamed the in-progress album from Second Generation to Forefront. Album art will be updated when I get to it.

I've recently reworked my view on mixing music. Previously I had this "melody-first, plan ahead" view which, as you can tell from some of my songs, hasn't gotten the best results. I've also switched to a great digital audio workstation called LMMS. It is similar to FL Studio but in my opinion is much more fun to work with.

My work-in-progress album is called Forefront. I am not completely sure if this is simply a name or if there will be a song named after the album. I am also working on a new (untitled) song. Expect more.
Why this name?
MM stands for MapleMario. Maple was thought of when I played / was obsessed with MapleStory. Mario, well, Mario is just awesome.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's way easier to share music between people. Plus, with MP3, you can download songs onto portable music players. Way easier than those old CD dinosaurs.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would. Not that it would necessarily be a successful venture but why not?
Band History:
2006 - Made one song ("Mario Remix") with Sony Acid Pro 5. Not a good program.
2007 - Started just making random music with FL Studio 7. No albums whatsoever.
2008 - Started the Second Generation album. I eventually moved on to FL Studio 8. Had around 5 songs in the making, was not sure whether to put them into Second Generation or just start a new album. However, I trashed all of them.
2009 - Came out with Rewind in mid January. This is also under the album cover of Second Generation.
2010 - Switched to LMMS (Linux Multimedia Studio). Renamed album to Forefront. I'm currently working on another song.
Your influences?
Mostly, prEmoEffect is my greatest influence, considering that without him I would never have started making music. However, I do listen to lots of trance now. I've started listening to trance music a bit more critically so these artists will probably be influencing my style more and more as time goes by.
Favorite spot?
Amsterdam - enough said.
Equipment used:
LMMS. Completely free digital audio workstation. It works on both Windows and Linux (my two primary operating systems).
