Have you ever had a dream so strong it kept you focused? So gentle, it kept you on the verge of tears? So far away, you lost sight of it? So close you could almost taste it?

My name is Jodi Ann. I am a Songwriter. Welcome to my page!

Hi! Let me start by saying that I am a songwriter and not an artist. I have been pouring my heart into music since I was 12. I was born and raised in MI. I moved to my home in TN ten years ago. Life is moving so fast! I have finally recorded a CD to help promote my music. Any feedback you like to give me would be greatly appreciated :)

Why this name?
My Mom And Dad argue about who named me :)

Do you play live?

I need to get back into live performances. I remember the feeling of excitement, dread, love, and fear all rolled into one emotion right before getting on stage. I really do miss it! ..............................

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I would say The internet has helped me quite a bit! I can promote my music through all different kinds of sites. I have met some wonderful people along the way!

Band History:
This was written by a staff member at lastfm.com

Jodi Ann is a singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Michigan. She started to write poems at the age of 12, received her first guitar at age 8, but did not learn to play it until she was 24. Her first songs were poems to guitar noise at 18 that lead her down the road of singer/songwriter.

Jodi Ann was a well-known Karaoke DJ in Michigan and was a pre-opening act for Diamond Rio at the 1997 Michigan State fair.

Jodi Ann moved to nashville in October 1998, with her first professional public performance at the famous Tootsies where was was introduced by country legend Dell Reeves. Other performances at the Bluebird Café and around Nashville rounded out a modest start to a potential career.

Jodi Ann saw a small break in meeting a singer while waiting tables in Nashville, though those connections she has since recorded her first full length CD, The Beginning, and is currently working on another.

She has seen radio airplay in Sydney, Australia with dj Dukerider, in the England area on the Monday mix with Emma Cherry, in Northern Ireland on aiiradio with dj Yorkie aka Andy aka John and a few various stations across the US! She was the Featured artist! On Indie Charts, on Jan. 24th 2008 and won the Battle on the bands contest competing against bands from all genres of music!

Jodi Ann was a featured artist on the website theouterpost.com!
Your influences?

My writing influences vary from one period of time to the next. Dolly Parton has played a big role in my music. Very heartfelt. Strong yet sweet. She can paint a story in your mind with her music. Reba McEntire has had the biggest influence on me. She has so much inner strength and she shines through her smile and her voice. When Nashville told her no, She said watch me!
I tend to use songwriting as an outlet for emotions when life gets to be too rough. Music has been my saving grace from insanity. Sometimes my songs are so deep and personal that i actually cry when i sing them. Maybe I'm just a sentimental and overly emotional girl.
Favorite spot?
Nashvile will always be my home. The energy of the city excites my soul. It inspires me to LIVE life to the Extreme :)
Equipment used:
my bluebird

I play the guitar. Im not really any good, but I can get the idea accross with the limited chords I know :)
Anything else...?
