Marc V. Mulé, Guitar player, singer, & good music lover!
Former US Naval Aviator/Officer, NCBA/GG/PAL/ and NYAC Boxer.

B.Sc. Penn State University

A7-E Aviator* / US Naval Aviation Schools Command, Pensacola, FL
Whiting, NAS, etc.

EVERY note I squeeze out of a guitar neck, sing, and/or ever will, is dedicated to all the positive, cool and loving, amongst my family, friends, -those to be- and those who long ago and far away, were.

As goes practical life wisdom, there's little better (given my experience) than;

"...NEVER argue with a FOOL in public. Innocent bystanders will quickly become confused as to which of you is most foolish..."
-Mark Twain

"...A lie makes it three times around the world, while truth is lacing up its running shoes..." -Anonymous

"...A man's about as happy as he makes up his mind to be... "
-Abe Lincoln

"...All GREAT truths begin as blasphemy..."
-George Bernard Shaw

"...The first casualty of war... -is truth...."
-Hiram Walker US, VP, 1918

"...Talking about music is like dancing about architecture..."
-Frank Zappa (attributed)

"When you starve with a tiger, the tiger Starves ==> LAST!"
[...Anonymous brilliance]

-Johnnie Taylor's (1973) advice-- (picked up and popularized by Buddy Guy)

* The Air Force has Pilots...the Navy has Aviators:

Why this name?
These days, I just play and/or record whenever and with whomever will have me. '14 Moved from CA (SF/LA-OC) across the U.S., back East (Blue Ridge Mountains), from whence I came several decades ago (NYC/Phil). The entire music biz devolved into a mess, but has continued to rise from the ashes a la The Phoenix. Everything comes around- eventually!

Do you play live?
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
OK- Here comes the "SCORE", of "today", with vinyl making an interesting come back, here's where things are: READY?!

EMI and Warner's "involvement" with Apple Computer's "iCloud" innovation struck me as the first sign of the industry's opportunity to rise again, a la "Phoenix". ;

Citicorp FINALLY drop-kicked EMI off in two pieces;

Vivendi's Universial Music Group got the recording half and Sony/ATV snagged the publishing end. [NOTE: 5/13: CEO of hedge fund Third Point Dan Loeb is pressuring Sony's CEO Kazuo Hirai to sell off at least 20% its music biz (labels: Columbia Records*, Epic Records, RCA Records, Ultra Records)].

Russian-American billionaire (Len Blavatnik / Access Industries owns Warner Music.

Warner shelled out $762.5 Million for key parts of EMI;

In exchange, Warner snapped up the Parlophone Label***, along w/ the Chrysalis and Ensign Labels.

When these owners finally begin to re-invest in building EMI and Warner back up, -maybe- $$$ will return to the game and and a fresh era of wonderful musicianship will blossom once more...Like all things, time will reveal the truth...

***Parlophone = Air / Cold Play / Daft Punk* / Danger Mouse / Deep Purple / Duran Duran / Edith Piaf / Gorillaz / Iron Maiden / Itzhak Perlman / Jethro Tull / Maria Callas / Pet Shop Boys / Pink Floyd / Radiohead and Tina Turner

*5/13 Daft Punk...ended their long-running terms with Len Blavatnik's Access Industries / Warner / EMI and shifted to Sony’s Columbia label.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
WHaaaat? :--)

The entire business model for music production, promotion and distribution, IMPLODED -several years before "The Great Recesion" even started...

IF making music is more than your hobby, Starting your OWN label, -contracting yourself- is ...THE Tao! Good luck with PR and Distribution though...

Favorite spot?
re; USA...I've lived in dozens of places in every region of America. SO many zipcodes, --SO little time! Specific areas of Lexington, KY, Yardley, PA, Manhatten, San Francisco and Dallas really captured my heart though! Dana Point, Laguna Hills, and Redondo Beach all have their charms, but since April 2014, I've begun to love the Greenville, SC area! Every/any one's so-called "Favorite" spot or city spells- "Home IS where the heart is.

"Put a glide in yo stride and a dip in yo hip 'n come own down to th' Mother Ship."

"Do the 'the thing' and you will succeed." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

The poem "IF" by Rudyard Kipling, 1909:

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
