Free music for free thinkers.
Why this name?
It was given to me.
Do you play live?
If it's convenient - I'll play for free, if the cause is right.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's a bit like the punk revolution of '76, challenging the established order of a complacent industry.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It would depend on the terms - this is fun for me, not work, and I'm not in it to make a living.
Band History:
I've been touting my wares around the Scottish folk club scene for around 10 years now, with varying degrees of success - my best moments have been winning songwriting competitions in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Falkirk, supporting Martin Stephenson at East Kilbride Arts Centre and having one commercial release on a Greentrax compilation, "Gentle Giants".
Your influences?
Far too many to list - if I had to choose one, it would be Tom Waits.
Favorite spot?
New York.
Equipment used:
Takamine EN40, Squier Telecaster, Variax 500, Danelectro DC12, Errington mandolin, Squier "Telezouk", Fender Musicmaster, Yamaha SY35 and a Shure SM58. Backing tracks are compiled in Acid Pro, recorded on a Boss BR900 and mastered in Wavelab.
Anything else...?
You can take the boy out of Wrexham, but you can't take Wrexham out of the boy.
