"Guilty Pleasure", an original melodic rock project has an available German release from Target Records but can be bought locally at cdbaby.com/cd/guiltypleasure. The band site is www.guiltypleasureband.com.
My cover band "The Groove" can be found at: www.thegrooveonline.net.
Why this name?
Guilty Pleasure? It's almost a crime to be caught listening to power pop. "The Groove" is a fun cover project for some side dough.
Do you play live?
All over the place. We'll be somewhere around you I'm sure.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I'm hoping someone huge like McCartney or Bowie takes labels to cyberspace to bypass corporate elements. Half the sales online would be about 10 times the money without stooges and music demand/variety could go back to the people.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Having said that, sure, cash is cash. These guys whining about someone else in the band getting all the glory and girls...if the check clears be quiet, haha.
Band History:
I'm having more fun than ever in life, love, and music...I thank God. I COULD plug the websites again but that'd be cheesy...thegrooveonline.net.
Your influences?
Beatles, Stones, Cheap Trick, anything with rock and roll energy to drive, exercise, or dance to (among other things).
Favorite spot?
Favorite spot...right here typing for you to read.
Equipment used:
I go where the deals are.
Anything else...?
A lot of guys complain they didn't get to make the music they wanted to make (Leif Garrett, David Cassidy, et al). After a couple years, no one buys them, the record company dumps them, then they claim they are "walking away" from the biz. This is the script for every "Behind the Music" ever written, but let me continue...
Then, they "go underground", finally getting to make the music "they" want. Except it's the same crap they made before without the solid songwriting supplied by their old partners.
