I started playing guitar when I was 16 with a love for world music. I have been playing in various local bands for about 20 years. When the digital recording age came along I built a home studio and began to learn recording, Acid Looping and combining those elements together to create world beat grooves. I have a business and a family but I continue to be a weekend warrior playing in a Classic Rock Band for fun and fuel my passion to write grooves, soundtracks, jingle bites and ambient compositions. This is my Hidden Missions !
Why this name?
I always wanted to be a musician since I was young. I own a company and try to still keep up my music as much as possible as it's my deepest passsion. For that reason, it was my "Hidden Mission" in life.
Do you play live?
I continue to be a weekend warrior playing in a Classic Rock Band for fun as well as other annual performances. My most special moment was seeing my 2 year old daughter outsmart security and run up to dance at a closed stage at an outdoor concert I was playing, right in front of 1200 people. I teared up on stage when I saw her there clapping and smiling, not caring that she was in front of all those people, so proud of her daddy. When the security people had to lead her of the stage she just ran around them. It was comical but it broke my heart that she had to go !
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet has given a lot of underground musicians and closet composers a chance to be heard. The only thing is now that music has become so accessible, it has become disposable, and songs are not as timeless the way they used to be.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I may sign to a label, but of course family is first and well, being 40 there isn't much time left !
