We are the Katyusha Rockets
Our story so far...
We're a 3 piece Indie/Rock band from Torquay in the southwest of England. Nothing experimental or technical and complicated, just guitar, bass, drums and vocals. We love playing our music, it's what we wanna do, listen and like, love, dance in your living room, play it in your pub or club or party or piss-up whatever, its fine by us!

Why this name?
Our bassist Mike is a bit of a fan of the odd stuff and he thought it sounded pretty funky and so it kinda stuck, like any other bandname I s'pose! (pronounce it Kat-oo-sha Rockets)
Do you play live?
Yes we do play live, as many clubs we can play around Torquay although it is f***ing dismul here. No-one really likes music, there are a few who do and we love those cheeky bi***es who come to all our gigs! We have a little following, would love to get out of here, we will literally play anywhere just because we love it. Special moments? Oxjam festival probably just cos we played real good, everyone enjoyed themselves going nuts down the front, stage diving, trashing the stuff, mad night!!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well to be honest we're not fully clued in on all this stuff. Just so long as it's being bought or listened to innocently there's nothing wrong with it is there?
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We'd be happy to sign with either Indie or Major. Indie preferably, because although we have nothing electronic or psychadelic about our music we're still very different. Majors would be fine so much as they don't push us around and tell us what to do.
Band History:
We formed in March 2007, and played our first jam nite 5 days after our first practice. Since March we've been writing all our own material, gigging as much as we can around the south west and just waiting on word for gigs up country with the help of some contacts! People know us from serenading busses and coffee shops in Exeter, our devilish good looks (haha, no really) our craziness, busking on the streets with acoustics and bongos and just being lively and up for anything, anytime, anywhere!
Your influences?
The Libertines, The Clash, The Smiths, The Beatles, The Who, The View, violence on the streets, turmoil in the world, going crazy just when you feel like it, screaming for no reason, mosh pits, loud guitar, pounding drums, booming bass.
Favorite spot?
The Bit on the Side in Paignton was a fantastic venue for us, we loved it, too bad it got closed down ):. The Hub in Exeter was a great venue until we accidentally broke something and had a big ape come out and try and push us around getting us on our hands and knees to fix a curtain. Just anywhere that's crazy and up for a massive moshy rave!
