Keith L. Hinds, better known as Soca Joe, was born August 9 in Port of Spain, Trinidad. At a very young age he fell in love with the sweet sounds of Soca and Calypso music after hearing songs from top soca artists such as Lord Kitchener and The Mighty Sparrow. Ever since he has had this passion to write music. When he came to America he wanted to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a top soca/reggae artist so he began to write his own songs. He wrote and recorded soca, reggae, and calypso music. Of the songs Soca Joe wrote and recorded, "Soca Pajama Party," got air time on the radio back in Trinidad. Some of his tunes are, "Crackhead for Soca," "Soca Pajama Party," and "Jam It."Even though Soca Joe mainly writes soca and reggae his capabilities aren't narrowed down to just these genres, he can also write gospel and R&B songs.
