David Raymer and John Digiorgio first met in Sacramento, California in 1981, where they played together in well regarded club bands Legacy and Crossfire. John and Dave played many shows together, including the California State Fair to wild raves, sharing bills with Steele Breeze and Tesla! (Who in fact opened for US!)
Here are John and Dave's recorded efforts during that time.
Why this name?
We started out as "Crossfire," then as there were too many of those became "Legacy" but since several Legacies also existed, I simplified it to our two names since John and I sang all these tracks. Pretty sure we are the only Raymer Digiorgio.
Do you play live?
San Francisco, Westwood, Sacramento, Davis (the Brewery)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
MP3's have drastically changed the music industry, and the internet as well. Today a teenager can have up to 500 songs on his or her Ipod! The question is, is it any good?
Back in our day, you actually had to know how to play to get work.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Only if they promised pie.
Band History:
David played with LA's the Finding and 900 West. John played with well known recording artist "Stephnie" in Japan in later years.
Jim Ingliss played keyboards, and also sang backup on these tracks. All drums were played by stalwart drummer Chuck Temple.
Jim Kiriakis was our soundman, and Jim Beckwith was our roadie and lightman. Fun was had by all!
Your influences?
David Bowie, the Cars, Def Leppard, Roxy Music, Devo, the Babies, Night Ranger, Rush, King Crimson, Judas Priest, Cheap Trick.
Favorite spot?
San Francisco.
Equipment used:
Dave plays Warmoth basses and Carvin amps, and John plays Ibanez guitars and Marshall and Musicman amps. Jim played CAT synthesizer, Elka string synth, and a Wurlitzer electric piano (both with amazing tone!) Chuck played a beautiful black double bass Tama drumset.
Anything else...?
The 4 track recorder was an Akia reel to reel. Beautiful sound. The board was a Biamp, and microphones were mostly Shure and EV.
