Flat Affect is the ongoing project of Shaun Phelps, a former electronic music critic of no particular esteem. F/A has been around in one form or another since 2000. The name was not always the same, but the aesthetic has had surprisngly few changes.

Why this name?
Flat Affect is a condition found in many schizophrenics and antisocial personalities. It is a general lack of emotion, a blunted affect.
Do you play live?
I do play live. I have played in homes, art galleries, music venues, and parks. I prefer to play in people's homes. There is more freedom of expression.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I cannot believe this question is being asked.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
