Blame It On Cain
NEWS
Happy Easter from all of us at BIOC. Hope that Wascally Wabbit brought you enough sugar to excite your dentist about the money he’ll be making off you’re future visits.
We can finally say that the CD is completed, mxed, mastered, all that good stuff. Last week we had our official band photos taken. That was a good time. Cold. But good. So now it’s off to the manufacturer to become a "real" cd. So very exciting. We got some other things that we’re lining up in anticipation of this great event. Some media outlets are expressing interest in the project. How cool is that?
Well that’s it for now. Stay tuned for more.

Blame It On Cain Rocks! That's all there is. Our debut cd Rhythm Schism will officially be released on Saturday April 12th at a special CD Release Party in Milwaukee at The Riverwest Commons! The songs on this site are from the CD, there are a few songs that are exclusive to the cd. Let us know what you think!
Why this name?
Stole it from an Elvis Costello song. Not sure who picked it, someone just said that was our name, and so it was.
Do you play live?
We play live in the Milwaukee area. Our highlight was playing with Brian Vander Ark of The Verve Pipe.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it's been great. Really makes independant music accessible.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Never say never.
Band History:
Blame It On Cain formed in the outskirts of Milwaukee in January 2007. The all-original quartet's straight-forward hard rock and pop songs have been compared to acts like Stone Temple Pilots and The Smithereens.
The band cut it's 'live' musical teeth playing opening slots for local favorites Fadeback, but really caught attention during an acoustic gig with Brian Vander Ark of the Verve Pipe, during summer 2007. 'Cain' even sat in on a couple of songs with the multi-platinum selling artist.
BIOC released two singles on the Australian-based mp3.com.au in the fall of 2007. The song, "Yesterday's Happy", peaked at #16 on the Top 100 Pop & Rock Track charts. That same week, 'Cain' reached #12 on the Top 100 Pop & Rock Artist charts. Also, "Yesterday's Happy" was picked for inclusion on a CD sampler, that appeared with the debut issue of the nationally-circulated, "Sex, Drugs, and Rock And Roll" magazine.
Original members, Sam Boettcher (vocals) and Steve Draganchuk (guitar) recently recruited bass player Greg Gibbs and drummer Al Sumner to join 'Cain'. The foursome will wrap up 2007 playing local shows before a planned trip into the studio to record a full-length CD in early 2008.
