thanks for checking us out. we are a Virginia based group. the band is a mesh of music lovers. i think we have bluegrass tendencies, but were all pretty weird. we try to only do original music, but we love all music. been playing together for a while . we wont ever be famous and thats fine. just want to play tunes let folks enjoy'em and be on our way .thanks for listening we'll be happy to come play in your town someday. just call us.
-red river rollercoaster-
Why this name?
pulled these words from a hat. They stuck.
Do you play live?
Yes, anywhere we can. life gets in the way a bit but for the most part we play anywhere we can . The best places we've every played have been, Little Grill, Purple fiddle and Gravity Lounge. When the venue loves the music your playing all is good.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
more people can here us and i think thats great. i can hear people that i've never heard of and i think thats great.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Band History:
Red River Rollercoaster is morphing. when we started there was 4 then we shrunk to 3 now were getting bigger topping out at 5. changing with times, we sure are having fun! The musicians can be described as this: " your fiddle player plays a violin, your bass player is a drummer, your mandolin player is a bass player, your banjo player is a guitar hero, and the only guy who plays the instrument he's supposed to isn't that talented" whatever... we play original country-bluegrass-alt-lovins we play fast and we have fun. come see us live and youll have fun too!!
