Why this name?
Well, before i went to prison my rap name was actually Snyp the General. After getting clear headed, i started thinking about reinventing myself and being myself. So being that i felt like Snyp had failed and was imprisoned, i decided to become Rod B. Which is three letters in my first name and last name initial. The "Gutta" is in relation to my emergence from Poverty, low income housing and violence in the hood(the gutter).
Do you play live?
Wow! I've performed at alot of places to name. Check my Bio for major shows that i have performed at. But i do definitely love to perform. It's like the best part of being a artist when you get a chance to publicly display your skills and get peoples reaction hands on. It's a great feeling expecially when the crowd is into your show. The energy is crazy!!! Yes, the special moment was when me and my team opened up for Jay=Z at Joe Louis Arena in our home town of Detroit. There was 30,000+ people in attendance for Jay-Z of course,and here we are on the stage doing our thing and we were recieved well. That was quite an accomplishment!!!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It just helps things get done alot easier,quicker. People are actually recording songs over the internet from distant parts of the world. For instance, a friend of mine name Page Kennedy sent me a track via email from Los Angeles,i was in Detroit, i opened the email at the studio,downloaded it, recorded my vocals to it, quantized it, sent it back via email, then Page sent it back including his and Ak'S verses on it as a finished song. In short, the song was done as if i had went to LA but i never left Detroit!!!! Amazing!!!! Quite a change to the music industry wouldn't you say?
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Definitely. As long as the contract is right and ethical,meaning it's in writing that i would be entitled to my advance,all my points and royalties. So yeah, long as the numbers are right.
