This page is dedicated to our R&B songs with a Hip-Hop flavor. But it's definetely still hot and true to the Sonz of Zadok sound out of Zion trademark.
Why this name?
Zadok was an Old Testament Priest in the Bible. He had alot to do with music, especially during times of war and battle. He ran with King David
Do you play live?
Not as much anymore, but we do have a live band that can rock with us if we need them
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has opeed major doors that previously were only open to groups with huge budgets on huge lables. It leaves no more excuses to the rest of us.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
uhh...let me see.. yeah!
Band History:
We started out as rappers about 10 years ago, and have performed with most of the major Gospel artist of today. We ended up saving all of our money from gigs and eventually built our own studio. We've been producing for about 3 years now.
Your influences?
Old school to New School. We find inspiration in everything. But from a hip hop point of view...Dre, Timb, Just Blaze, Kanye, Jay Dee, Primo. In general, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Winans, Michael Jackson... you know.. the regulars.
Favorite spot?
The D, of course (Detroit)
Equipment used:
We record on the Alesis HD24 and we also use Cubase. Everything else is standard. (MPC2000XL, Roland, Kurzweil, EMU, etc...)
